    Dr. Ilias E. Panagiotopoulos is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering, University of West Attica, Greece, on the theme of "Intelligent Motion Planning Optimization for Autonomous Guided Vehicles" (starting from October 2020). Ηe holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics (2002) and a Ph.D. in Aerospace – Aeronautics Engineering (2009) both from the Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics Department, University of Patras, Greece. He also holds a Ph.D. in Informatics Science and Technology (2020) from the Informatics and Telematics Department, Harokopio University of Athens, Greece. His research interests lie in the areas of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Vehicle Automation Technology, as well as in the areas of Computational Ballistics and Aeronautics – Aerospace Engineering. He has published more than sixty (60) papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, and one (1) academic book (as a co-author). He has been involved as a researcher in numerous European and National R&D projects. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG).

    Ilias Kalathas

    Mr. Ilias Kalathas is working as an engineer at the Athens Public Transport Organization (O.A.S.A. S.A.). He received his first degree from the Department of Automation Engineering in the selection program of Technological Education Institute (TEI) of Piraeus in 2006. Then in 2016 he received his master’s degree in Industrial Automation from Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. Also, he is PhD candidate of the Department of Industrial and Product Design Engineering, University of West Attica since September 2018, on the theme of «Applications of machine learning in damage predictive and maintenance of operation for Greek railway rolling stock.» His primary research field is artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining and railways. Other research fields include advanced technologies for decision making support in transportation, applications to transportation, Intelligent business Systems for maintenance and traffic management. He serves as Reviewer in journal Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal (ASTESJ) which is included in the Scopus bibliographical database and he is a member of the Hellenic Maintenance Society (HSM).

    Sotiria Michael

    Ms. Sotiria Michael is a second year PhD student at University of West Attica. She is interested in questions at the new technologies of transportation, data analysis, and modern incorporated transportations and logistics. She holds a MSc degree in New Technologies in Shipping and Transport from University of Aegean and University of West Attica as well as a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business. Prior to joining UniWA, she has worked as an economic consultant focusing on European Investment Programs. For the last 3 years she has been working as Tender Manager at DB Schenker.

    Stavros Stavrinidis

    Stavros Stavrinidis

    Mr. Stavros Stavrinidis received the diploma in Automation Engineering from the Department of Automation Engineering, Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus in 2013, the Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Advanced Information Systems from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus in 2015. He is currently a PhD Student in the Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering at the University of West Attica, on the field of "Intelligent vehicle routing systems". His main research interests are: Fuzzy Systems, Metaheuristic algorithm, Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs), image processing.

    Konstantina Stavrothanasopoulou

    Ms. Konstantina Stavrothanasopoulou is a 2007 graduate of the Department of Automation. K. Stavrothanasopoulou also holds a 2010 Masters of Electronic Commerce from the Kingston University. Since 2018 she is a PhD candidate at the Department of Industrial and Product Design Engineering of the School of Engineering of University of West Attica entitled "Quality and safety in Information Systems with applications in Health".

    Aikaterini Sfiroera

    Aikaterini Sfiroera

    Ms. Aikaterini Sfiroera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and Logistics Management from Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece and a master’s degree focused in New Technologies in Shipping and Transport from University of Aegean and Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. Since 2018 she has officially started her research career as a PhD candidate with subject of study the Impact of Autonomous Ships’ Use in Short Sea Shipping. Her reasearch interests include Autonomous Shipping, Supply Chain and Logistics, New Technologies in Shipping, Information Systems for Shipping Companies, Transportation Management and Operations, Port Community Systems and Intermodal Transport.

    Emmanouel Fragkedakis

    Emmanouel Fragkedakis

    Doctoral Researcher

    Mr. studied for his undergraduate degree in Automation Engineering at the Technical University of Piraeus. During that time, he gained knowledge in Informatics, Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Systems as well as in Robotics. He holds two postgraduate degrees, the first one in Industrial Automation and another in Cybersecurity by the University of West Attica. He is a PhD Candidate in the subject of 5G Networks and in particular in “Cybersecurity for Information and Data Transmission in 5G Networks” at the Department of Industrial Design & Production Engineering of the University of West Attica starting from December 2019.
